Last night, New York born Julian Velard took to the stage in West London. The cosy venue of Bush Hall, with it's moody feel, dimly-lit chandeliers and ruby carpets provided the perfect ambience for the singer's ensemble of easy to absorb songs - all performed with a smile on his face and an eye on the audience.
Julian's 'sound' is classed as piano pop and it's his ability to perform piano as well as demonstrate his vocals that makes him stand out from the rest. He played a series of tracks from his album The Planteer which earned him some serious cheers from his intimate audience - Do It Alone and Joni got tremendous applause. And there were also offerings from his latest LP, Mr Saturday Night, with new single Sentimenal going down a real treat.
And the best part of the night? Watching this talented artist unveil track after track with such grace and perfection. And watching from the balcony terrace - high up above the bustle of London's Shepherd's Bush - the perfect way to take in his work.
