Clarins Spring Collection

Love London

Since the sunshine cruelly showed its face last week before beating a hasty retreat, I'm hoping that by dabbling with some of my new spring make up I might encourage it to once again break through the cloud and banish these cold days once and for all. There's no better way to lighten up for spring than with the new Clarins collection. Gone are the moody dull tones of my winter make up bag, replaced with the delicate shades of the latest delicious offering from one of my favourite brands...

First up is the Limited Edition Colour Breeze Face & Blush Palette (£30). Almost too pretty to use (as per usual with Clarins!) it contains three shades of blush embossed into a delicate powder which can be used alone or blended together for a subtle touch of radiance. There perfect finishing powder. Brighten up pallid cheeks with the Limited Edition Instant Light Blush (£19) in Vitamin Pink or Coral Tonic. The super light skin-enhancing liquid cheek colours glide on to create high definition radiance, yet natural colour. Enhanced with skin softening redcurrant and raspberry seed oil, I am currently loving the coral shade, perfect for a subtle spring flush.

For eyes the latest Limited Edition Eye Quartet Mineral Palette (£30) contains four satin smooth, wet and dry formula mineral shadows in demure shades of turquoise and grey green, partnered with a soft flannel grey to define the eyes and an illuminating white for highlighting. It's quite a departure from my usual smokey bronzes (I have used the Nudes palette from the autumn collection TO DEATH!) but surprisingly flattering on my green/hazel eyes.

Not forgetting the all-important lips, the collection of Gloss Prodige Intense Colour & Shine Gloss colours (£15.50) encapsulates seven shades from the barely there nude Nude through pretty pink Candy to the bold and beautiful Blackcurrant, so there's something for every skin tone, day or night.

Clarins has a knack of wheedling its way into my make up bag and becoming a permanent fixture and so far it would seem the new collection is doing just that - there are definitely a few products in there that have become firm favourites and won't be leaving my face any time soon.
