I am a total sucker for pretty packaging. Gorgeous bottles for my dressing table, sunny colours, delicate designs - just as I always judge books by their covers I also have a tendency to buy things because they look lovely with scant regard for whether they actually work...
So far the new Paul & Joe Pearl Foundation Primer hasn't let me down. I admit I bought it partly because it looks so damn beautiful. Also because I read a couple of reviews that said it was good. Obviously. Ahem. Tiny beads in the softest shades of ice blue, lemon yellow, mint, white, lilac and rose are suspended in a clear which all crush together in a dreamy mixture when dispensed. Applied before foundation it leaves an iridescent shimmer on the skin ready for your make up. I can't help but think it will really come into it's own in the summer where it would undoubtedly work best blended with a little tinted moisturiser for subtly dewy skin, but for now I am happy for it to sit amongst the beautiful items of my dressing table where it shall be used under the heavy winter base that shields my pallid skin from the outside world!
