Thursday saw the launch of Topman's latest limited edition collaboration - The Denim Jacket Project. The brand had invited a handpicked selection of talented menswear designers from both sides of the Atlantic to re-invent the wardrobe classic to be sold in store and online. The posse includes the cream of British menswear talent including Katie Eary, Oliver Spencer, Lou Dalton and Shaun Samson as well as Mark McNairy, one of the most exciting new menswear talents to emerge from New York in recent years.
My favourite creation is by Royal College of Art graduate Katie Eary (jacket pictured), known for what she describes as ‘glamorous streetwear’. This is abundant throughout her design which entails heavily bleach washed denim with detachable borg collar, gold finish metalwork and a staple Katie Eary bold animal print lining which demonstrates that street couture is at the heart of all her work.
The denim jackets are available now in selected Topman stores, independent boutiques globally and online at www.topman.com and will retail at £70.
