MUSIC NEWS: Hard Rock call a guitar amnesty

London Art Scene from The Art Stop

If you have an old guitar lying about that you never play – or perhaps one with broken strings that you’re about to chuck out, STOP NOW. We have a better idea!

London’s Hard Rock Cafe are asking anyone with old or broken guitars to hand in their used instruments, where they will be fixed up and passed on to disadvantaged children through wonderful charity Barnardo’s. Nice, eh?

The guitar amnesty is in its second year of work and as 2011’s event proved to be so successful, Hard Rock have decided to do it all again this year with the support of Barnardo’s. We think you’ll agree – it’s a great idea!

So here are the facts: - It doesn’t matter whether your guitar is just old and dusty, actually broken or even just child-size and is no longer any use – whatever the fault, Hard Rock’s expert guitar tech Chris Leslie has promised to fix it.

And of course your services won’t go unrewarded. If you hand in your old guitar to the London café (Edinburgh and Manchester are also supporting the scheme), you will receive a very exclusive branded goodie bag. Not a bad thank you for making some little kids very happy, right?

So what are you waiting for? It’s time to Spring clean anyway – donate those guitars and make someone happy.
