I know the Olympics is over and done, but with the Paralympics set to open shortly I thought I would share a pic of the patriotic nails I sported during the Games!
During London 2012 I had the pleasure of working at the P&G Salon at the Wella Studio, one of four salons across London set up by P&G as part of their Thank You Mom campaign. With the aim of thanking the heroes behind the heroes, the salons pampered athletes, their mums and families with complimentary beauty treatments throughout the Games - a wonderful initiative which was a fantastic experience. I even got a peek at Michael Phelps and Jessica Ennis when they visited the salon!
One of the treatments available at the salon was patriotic nail art. The flags of all 204 countries participating at London 2012 were available to have painted on your nails (some a more time-consuming experience than others!) and the team of uber-talented nail artists on site painted hundreds of nails over the three weeks, in every flag imaginable from Malta to Micronesia and everything in between, including - of course - the Union Jack.
I indulged and had my nails painted with my three countries: South Africa (where my Mum is from and I have a lot of family), Belgium (where I grew up) and the Union Jack, for obvious reasons. Love them! Might be tempted to do it again for the Paralympics...
