Charnos National Stockings Day

Love London

Hosiery brand Charnos is doing its bit to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month by naming today National Stockings Day in support of Breast Cancer Care, something I'm certain won't draw any complaints from the gentlemen among you...

With activity in London, Manchester and Glasgow, this year's theme is you ‘Can Can’ wear stockings, highlighting the feel good factor of donning gorgeous feminine hosiery to help you feel better.

A photo call launched the activity this morning outside House of Fraser Oxford Street, followed by three performances throughout the day of amazing Can Can dancers, who have been entertaining unsuspecting shoppers with a flurry of frilly skirts and sultry stockings, all whilst rattling their tins for Breast Cancer Care. Other performances are taking place simultaneously in the House of Fraser Glasgow store, whilst in Manchester a team of hosiery clad lovelies will be visiting landmarks in the city with their collection tins.

Breast Cancer Care’s Director of Fundraising and Marketing, Judy Beard said, “1 in 8 women in the UK will develop breast cancer in their lifetime and many women feel that they lose their femininity during treatment. Charnos National Stockings Day is a great excuse to get together with your friends, have fun and treat yourself by wearing beautiful stockings, while helping to raising awareness about breast cancer. Breast Cancer Care wants to be there for anyone affected by breast cancer and we couldn’t do this without the support from companies such as Charnos and their customers, so thank you.”

Isabel Keith, Buyer for Hosiery & Lingerie at House of Fraser: “It is a fantastic opportunity for us to add our support to such a great cause and give our customers an enjoyable experience whilst raising money for Breast Cancer Care. We are very excited to host a great performance at our Oxford Street and Glasgow stores!”
