You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile

Love London

As I was writing this post the above song came on the radio and I felt it was a fitting title for this morning's post! I have occasionally brought you dental news as part of my beauty offering as, after all, a sparkling smile is often the first thing you notice in a person, not to mention it making you look and feel gorgeous.

So when I recently stumbled across Colgate's latest development in the world of electric toothbrushes, I had to try it out. The Colgate ProClinical A1500 is the UK’s first electric toothbrush that automatically adjusts using unique smart sensors to engage different speeds and cleaning actions based on the position it is held in the mouth, resulting in an amazing clean for both teeth and gums.

The brush has been developed in partnership with Omron Healthcare, worldwide leaders in the manufacture of medical and home healthcare products with innovative sensing and control technology. Featuring a distinct sonic wave cleaning action that delivers up to 32,500 strokes per minute, the brush effectively reduces five times more plaque along the gum-line than standard brushing would.

Along with an auto and manual mode selection, and a clear LED display, the toothbrush features a two-minute timer to ensure that you clean your teeth for the length of time recommended by dental professionals for optimum oral health as well as a 30-second pacer to indicate when to move to another quadrant in your mouth. It also comes with a convenient travel case and a replaceable brush head. Two types of replaceable brush heads are available - Triple Clean, which cleans in three ways, and Sensitive, for gentle and deep cleaning.

I've been trying out the new brush over the last four weeks and have been consistently impressed; my teeth are left feeling thoroughly and deeply cleaned without feeling 'scrubbed', the brush is extremely lightweight and easy to use, and it's certainly encouraged me to spend a full two minutes cleaning my teeth, which I have to admit I didn't do previously. The A1500 retails at £169.99, though there are two other models in the range at £99.99 and £64.99 - all three models are currently half price at Boots and www.boots.com
