It’s sod’s law that just as the March magazines come out and new season collections start to drop in store, the snow returns, bringing with it all its taunting, slushy misery reminding us that spring is still but a distant dream. Spring’s collections are awash with delicate pastels, flirting promiscuously with frills, and floating hemlines; a far cry from my current snow day outfit of a chunky jumper and biker boots. Quelle horreur.
Nevertheless, the keen-eyed among you will be aware that the best time to purchase new season buys is, contrary to popular belief, as soon as you see them. There have been too many occasions in recent years where I have pondered a dreamy purchase, only to put it off and discover a week later it’s sold out, discontinued, never to be mine. Cue wardrobe depression and a mild sense of panic that I will never find anything as pretty. As this circle of pain is clearly bad for my health, I have thus since decided that if I see something I fall head over heels in love with, to buy it as soon as I can (within reason…).
And so it is, that this week I will be investing in these springalicious heels from ASOS. The buttery mint suede, the delicate ankle strap, the fierce Perspex heel – I’m in love. They are a dreamy concoction of delight; the kind of shoes I imagine to be delivered on a cushion made of clouds and reader, they shall be mine. BEFORE they sell out.
