That would stand for Varsity (like, duh!) which, unless you've be living under a rock for the past 6 months, you will have noticed is something of a trend. Sportswear has gone luxe for spring 2013 which, for someone who is allergic to sport and its accompanying fashions, can prove something of a challenge.
The only trainers I own are gold leather Converse (hardly hockey pitch-appropriate) and as a teen I used to pay my friends take my place on school sports days. I don't do sport. Alas, it is with great irony I bring you news of my latest fashion find which, although sporting in style, is from a brand that started life as a sweet shop...much more my style.
Yes my friends, the above jacket is from none other than Candy Kittens, the emporium to sugar founded by Made in Chelsea's resident hyperactive Andrex puppy himself, Jamie Laing. Branching out into clothing and lifestyle gifts, the current range includes Ts, hoodies and beanies emblazoned with Jamie's catchphrases of 'Pardy' and 'Yeah Boi', as well as super cosy-looking PJ bottoms perfect for lazy Sundays. It was however the varsity jacket that grabbed my attention. Available in navy and hot pink (naturally the one I was drawn to...) it's luxuriously thick, not too smart or too casual, and isn't too branded, as many are. I'm certain it will making a smashing addition to my spring wardrobe, or as good as can be until I get my hands on a Rydell or William McKinley High School letterman sweater...
