Fashion Find of the Week...

Love London

I'm not entirely sure how October has arrived already, but its arrival heralds the great wardrobe switchover (even though it's still going to be 20 degrees at the weekend...go figure...) which in turn means boot shopping. I have a couple of great pairs from Zara, but in spite being less than a year old they are both beginning to fall apart (FYI - Zara boots: look great, don't wear so great...).

In an evening of browsing online for new season purchases I stumbled across a site I hadn't really thought of before, Clarks. Beloved of mums with school-age children and Hush Puppies-loving grannies everywhere, Clarks has done well in the last few years to change its image and challenge one's preconceptions of the brand; the more recent collections have become a lot more fashion-focused; think spats-esque black and white patent brogues and leopard print ballet pumps.

I am however particularly drawn to their boot collection. While admittedly Clarks is still catering for (almost) everyone, so there are a lot of sturdy, mum-friendly-country-walk styles, the range of fashion forward styles perfect for autumn in the city has blown my mind a little bit - I literally had no idea.

One of my favourite autumnal looks is a tea dress under a sweater with tights and boots, but which to go for? Do I choose Moonlit Star (top left, £79.99) a faintly cowboy-esque roughed up suede, or Langdon Fizz (top right, £69.99), resplendent with its gold, rock n roll stud detail? Or perhaps I'm more of a biker girl with the Orinoco Sash (bottom left, £79.99) or just maybe the smart Mojito Sorbet (bottom right, £89.99)? Either way, I have a sneaky suspicion I'm done with Zara's boots and that Clarks might be my next port of call...
