So November crept up on us a bit didn't it? Just when you least expect it, out it pops with its clock changes, dark evenings, rain-lashed commute and wind-whipped hair. Joyous. Though there is one silver lining, for with it has come the arrival of J Crew.
At long last this American fashion staple beloved of the First Family has finally hit our shores. And not a moment too soon; it's just what we all need to lift us from out autumnal funk and give us hope that there is life beyond a British winter...
Since its debut with a catalogue in 1983 and first flagship store in New York in 1989, J Crew has grown into a fashion powerhouse in the USA. Creative Director Jenna Lyons has been with the brand since 1990 and undoubtedly knows it inside out, consistently producing a flawless collection season after season that subtly mirrors her own polished androgynous style perfect for the noughties woman.
From updating a classic trouser with a jazzy jacquard fabric, to a multi-coloured fairisle knit or a chunky necklace of crystal bling, J Crew has completely hit the nail on the head. I for one am ridiculously excited to see the new store.
