I'm a big fan of nail polishes, to the extent that I used to have a set of shelves in my living room featuring my 100+ bottle collection, arranged in colour order like a rainbow. Being constantly on the go with three jobs however, it's rare that I have the time to spend on nail art any more, which is why I was tempted to give the Elegant Touch instant, press-on nails a try.
Available in an absolute myriad of colours, patterns, shapes and sizes, the Elegant Touch range includes designs from House of Holland and Little Mix, alongside classic French manicures, plain gloss and matte shades and gorgeously graphic nail art designs.
I plumped for the super-bright Abstract Marble nails (£7.10). UV Gel technology provides the added benefit of a salon gel so nails don't chip, the top coat won’t scratch and the nail stays bright and strong. Super Adhesive Tabs are included in the packet, kind of like little double sided sticky gel pads. Note to self: next time apply all of these first and peel off the backing before attaching any nails, as it's nearly impossible to do once one hand is already finished! The process takes about 15 minutes, though would be made a lot easier were the nails numbered with sizes: it took me a good five minutes to go through the 24 included and match up pairs the same size to cover both hands.
Once on the result is pretty good. Various sizes in the packet mean you easily find nails that are the same size are your own, ensuring a snug fit and realistic finish. With a job involving typing all day however they do start to annoy a little after a while. I'm not sure I personally would wear them permanently for a whole week - how long the sticky tabs should last - I think for they would be more like a party/night out/dressing up thing. I've found a great pair that perfectly matches a dress I'm planning on wearing to an upcoming wedding so will certainly give them another go for that!
