And so Autumn appears to be arriving with a vengeance, or is it? Since September bowled in on Tuesday it seems the season has changed somewhat more abruptly than usual - the quilt has already made its return to my bed - but with the weather once again warming up to a balmy 20 degrees this week, it begs the age-old question; what the hell is one supposed to wear at this time of year?
Suddenly the rainbow brights and jolly fringing of my summer wardrobe don't seem so appropriate, but not yet am I ready to draw my jumper collection out from its seasonal retirement and give up on warmth completely. Step forward (my saviour) good old Marks & Spencer. The brilliant No Peep Denim Smock Shirt Dress (£45) is - I suspect - about to become a new favourite. Lightweight enough that it'll work in this tricky can't-tell-if-it's-warm-or-cold-out kind of month, and it's just begging to be layered with chunky tights, ankle boots and one of the aforementioned jumpers when the weather takes a turn for the worse.
