Every so often a beauty launch comes along that gets me more excited that it strictly should, and the latest offering from US cult cosmetics brand NARS might just be one of those things.
It's often bandied about that you're either an eyes or a lips person; my lips being annoyingly skinny (the one part of me that is..) and generally a bit odd-looking when dolled up, I most definitely fall into the former category, hence why the latest NARS offerings - both available now exclusively at Space NK and from 1st October nationwide - really float my boat.
First up in the dynamic new duo is the Audacious Mascara (£20). With a brush exclusively designed with over 200 moulded bristles and lengthening hooks (look closely and they look like velcro), it catches every lash and evenly grips and coats lashes from root to tip, plus the tapered tip gets right into those awkward corners. The uniquely fluid first-to-market formula stays soft and flexible, meaning unprecedented buildability, while the fact that it's enriched with humectants and conditioners keeps lashes silky without smudging, clumping or flaking. Winner.
Its partner in smoky eye crime is the incredible Kohliner (£18.50). I love a blacker than black kohl, a really striking bold line, and this does the job perfectly. Creamy and concentrated, the matte black formula is bold enough for the waterline and soft enough for smudging -eyeliner perfection.
