Get Set for the New UNIQLO Flagship...

Love London

Eagle-eyed shoppers might have noticed the flagship UNIQLO store on Oxford Street has been out of action for a while. Well, al that is about to change as the brand prepares for its relaunch next month following a mega facelift.

The global flagship (at 311 Oxford Street) will be the first in the world to introduce the new Liberty London for UNIQLO collection , one which – as a lifelong Liberty lover – I am seriously excited to get my hands on. At the same time UNIQLO will launch its new Spring Summer collection with UNIQLO AND LEMAIRE. The transformation of the store has seen the sales space expand from three floors to five, almost doubling the size of the original space and totalling an impressive 2,240 metres squared. An exciting new conceptual sales area has been created within the store where UNIQLO’s LifeWear concept will be brought to life, whilst a newly built roof terrace gives shoppers breath-taking views across London and will play host to exciting exclusive events in the upcoming months.

Commenting on the launch of the renovated store, Takao Kuwahara, UNIQLO Europe CEO, said, “London was UNIQLO’s first market outside of Japan when we opened in 2001. Our London Global Flagship Store followed in November 2007, offering the largest UNIQLO sales floor space in the world at the time. The redevelopment, almost 10 years later, demonstrates UNIQLO’s longstanding commitment to London and our desire to continue to improve our offering for both a local and a global customer audience.” He added, “We look forward to opening our doors once again on Friday, 18 March, and we hope to welcome many customers on the day.”

UNIQLO is also introducing an entirely new concept area, The Uniqlo WearHouse London, which gives a nod to the heritage of the brand’s original name, The Unique Clothing Warehouse, whilst celebrating LifeWear. UNIQLO WearHouse London is a new space that can be accessed either from within the store or from its own private entrance and lift from Oxford Street.

With an entirely different design and bespoke way of displaying clothes, UNIQLO WearHouse London has been created as a cultural hub, which will host unique events throughout the year to celebrate London and the diverse range of people who live there. 311 Oxford Street is the first UNIQLO store in the world to showcase this new concept and demonstrate LifeWear to Londoners. The design of UNIQLO WearHouse London will provide the perfect contrast to the rest of the store which includes UNIQLO’s staple technology touches such as LED tickers and rotating mannequins.

To further enhance the customer shopping experience at the 311 Store, UNIQLO will launch a dedicated online shopping assistant. www.Uniqlo.com/311 will act as a store guide, allowing customers to check stock levels at other UNIQLO London stores, with the option to order online should they not be able to find what they are looking for. Customers can now register their interest in the store on the website and be in with the chance to win a years’ worth of shopping.

UNIQLO reopens on Friday, March 18th at 311 Oxford Street, London, W1C 2HP Floor
