We've been promised another heatwave later this month and given what a damp squib summer has been so far, I for one am determined to be prepared for it, which means having a wine rack well stocked with crisp, fresh rosés ready for when the sun shines again.

The last time the sun shone, we tried out a duo of delectabled drinks that came highly recommended. The Boutinot 'Les Cerisiers' Côtes du Rhône Rosé 2020 (currently unavailable, but pick up a magnum of the 2019 vintage for £20.95) is a classic gastronomic rosé, with aromas of rosehip syrup, wild berry blossoms and cherries on the nose. It works perfectly with light lunches, grilled fish or just as a summer apéritif. The Domaine de la Vielle Tour Rosé, Côtes de Provence 2020 (£13.95, available here) is a classic blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault, creating a very drinkable, pale raspberry-pink wine with delicate aromas. Perfect chilled to accompany seafood and mediterranean dishes. Delicious!
