You'd be forgiven for not having heard of Calcotada before, but the Spanish Onion Festival - yes, you heard that correctly. Calçotadas are traditional Catalan barbecues held during the winter, an opportunity to gather friend and family for a celebratory meal with calçots, seasonal large, sweet, spring onions at its centre.
Exmouth Market's Spanish restaurant Morito is celebrating with a feast this weekend in collaboration with Barcelona aperitif brand El Bandarra. The four course tasting menu, hosted this Sunday 6th March at 7.30pm, will feature a host of Catalonian delights in celebration of the festival, alongside El Bandarra Rojo Vermouth.
With four sittings (12.30pm, 2.30pm, 5.30pm, 7.30pm) Sunday's menu is amazing value at just £40 per head and includes:
