Luxury French tea purveyor Mariage Frères in Covent Garden is celebrating the arrival of spring and the blooming of blossom trees across the world with a special Sakura menu. Head for the first floor elegant Salon de Thé between 21st March and 3rd April to enjoy an indulgent, blossom-inspired set lunch to mark the new season, or as a special way to spoil mum’s this Mother’s Day, with a complimentary glass of Champagne* to celebrate.

Known for its innovative Cuisine au Thé - using tea as a delicate ingredient, spice or flavouring in every dish – both dishes on the limited edition two course menu features the new Sakura, Sakura!® 2022 blend, a green tea delicately flavoured with a blooming cherry blossom fragrance. The menu starts with seared cod infused with Sakura, Sakura!® and served with white asparagus, amarena cherry, mellow leaves dresses with turmeric honey, nuts and seeds. This will be followed by the most exquisite French patisserie – the stunning Sakura Flower dessert of almond mousse with a flowery core infused with Sakura, Sakura!® green tea and amarena cheery, atop a crispy white almond dragée base.

The menu will be accompanied by a cocktail special made with champagne and Sakura blue tea, or a tasty Sakura Song milky mocktail also featuring Sakura blue tea. 

The Sakura specials join Mariage Frères’ seasonal à la carte menu of light and contemporary dishes such as avocado guacamole-style with Japanese Matcha green tea and sweet potato crisps; prawn Thermidor infused with Nocturne Oriental Tea®, jasmine rice, Emmental and parsley; and the signature gold leaf adorned Carré d’Or – 24 Carats® dessert of dark chocolate mousse flavoured with Black Magic® tea, a fleur de sel caramel core and sweet redcurrant coulis.
