DIARY DATE: CHEESE & WINE NIGHTS AT MORTY & BOB'S

Love London

This month, local neighbourhood hangout and all-day dining restaurant, Morty & Bob’s, is launching two special Grilled Cheese & Wine Pairing Evenings. Each evening intends to showcase different wines from across the world along with Morty’s impressive and famed grilled cheese offering.

Priced at £36 per ticket, guests can attend the evening at Morty & Bob’s Kensal Rise on the 28 February, or in its Kings Cross location on the 7 March. The evening events take place between 7.30pm and 9.30pm.

Guests on the night will enjoy a glass of fizz upon arrival, as well as a selection of nibbles, before settling down for some cheesy, wine-fuelled fun. Throughout the evenings, diners will sample five additional wines ending with a show stopper, each of which will be paired with a specially curated, bite-size grilled cheese sandwich designed to complement the wine.

Hosting the event will be sommelier and Bordeaux specialist, Benedict Butterworth, alongside Morty & Bob’s Founder, Charlie Phillips. Offering expert opinion on the French wines, Benedict will showcase the wine selection, talking through the collection which will include a finale show-stopper wine. Alongside, Charlie will tell guests the brand story of Morty & Bob’s and how it rose to fame following the unveiling of its popular grilled cheese toastie offering. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase wine to take home also.

The Morty & Bob’s Kensal Rise event will take place at 118 College Road in the brand’s newest restaurant sandwiched between Kensal Rise and Kensal Green Station. For those who prefer a more central location, Morty & Bob’s Kings Cross will host the second event in its popular Coal Drops Yard location - this outpost is well connected with easy access to most London tube lines and bus networks.

A relaxed home away from home serving comfort food, snacks and drinks, Morty & Bob’s menus consist of locally sourced, fresh, seasonal ingredients and American-influenced British dishes. Supporting local producers, Morty & Bob’s also stocks a wide range of London-made beers, spirits, and mixers.

The brand is headed up by owner and restaurateur, Charlie Phillips. Phillips’ love of food and inspiration from his two hardworking grandads spurred the creative idea for Morty & Bob’s – his grandparents’ namesake. He initially launched a street food stall in East London’s Netil Market. The brand then toured the UK music festival circuit and ran a series of pop-ups. Today, Morty & Bob’s has restaurants in Coal Drops Yard, Kings Cross; Westfield Shepherd’s Bush, and Kensal Rise - the newest restaurant, bar and cafe.
