This July 22nd, London's Margarita Rumble returns, the bottomless fiesta that brings the top bars and mixologists of the city together to compete to find the UK’s best margarita. Heading east this year, the Rumble will arrive in Hackney at Two More Years, for a celebration of the city’s best margherita cocktails from London’s bars and restaurants.
Expertly crafted tequila cocktails will be blended, shaken and stirred using Jose Cuervo tequila from bars across the city all under one roof, sharing their very own take on the classic tipple to be crowned the best marg’ in London town.
This year’s event already has more than ten tequila experts signed up to compete to be crowned including: That Sos Papos, Islington Blend, Looking Glass Cocktail Club, Primos Mexican, Agave enthusiasts, MXO London, Exmouth Market favourites, The Street Easy, Jalisco Brixton, 12:51 by James Cochran, NYC style Soho cocktail bar, Beasy, The Black Horse, Nobody Asked Me, Cafe Pacifico and our hosts venue, Two More Years with more to be announced.
With tickets on sale now at £37.50, guests can choose to join one of three sessions of free-flowing margaritas, with each reveller being given a token on arrival to put into the ballot box of their choice and vote for their favourite cocktail. The winner will be chosen in the last 15 minutes of the final session giving ample opportunity for generous sampling, and resampling, just to make sure the right decisions are made!
Entertainment will be provided by DJs, dancing day of the dead skeletons, and lots of other surprises to add to the festival atmosphere, whilst hosts, Jose Cuervo will also have their tequila experts on hand to offer tequila masterclasses and cocktail workshops.
Great British Menu champion, Chef James Cochran (12:51, Upper Street), an avid margherita fan himself, has teamed up with burger expert extraordinaries, Lucky Chip, to ensure margherita fun can be extended alongside some delicious fare. Enjoy James Cochran’s OG Fried Chicken Burger, which shot to fame in lockdown at his chicken shop takeaway, Around the Cluck, with the crispiest buttermilk fried chicken, topped with super smooth blue cheese mousse, crunchy bacon crumb, crisp lettuce and 1251 x Sauce Shop scotch bonnet jam, as well as Lucky Chip cheese croquettes, baby back ribs and more, served all day.
