Pioneer DJ has announced a new workshop designed for aspiring DJs - Start from Scratch - in partnership with fabric London and DJ and KISS Fresh Breakfast Presenter Esi. The free event is part of a series of sessions celebrating Black History Month and the contributions and achievements of black DJs around the world and throughout history. Being held at fabric on Wednesday 18th October, it encourages budding black DJs and persons from all communities of colour to take part - check out the sign up link HERE now to register.

Start from Scratch invites those new to DJing to learn the basics or improve their skills and gain crucial insights into the electronic music industry. The workshops guide participants through how to use Pioneer DJ’s industry-leading equipment under the guidance of acclaimed artists, DJ schools and Pioneer DJ product experts. The special event taking place this October at fabric London will be an insightful Introduction to DJing, a two-hour hands-on dive into the foundations of the skill and opportunity for attendees to give it a go. Plus, all workshop attendees will receive a free 3-month licence to the online educational platform Virtuoso, affording the opportunity to keep on crafting.

The workshop will be led by Esi who will be sharing her own story, DJ mastery and crucial industry insights. Esi has swiftly established herself as one to watch in the DJ world, racking up features across tastemaker and national broadcasters alike, including No Signal, BBC 1Xtra and Capital Xtra. Her permanent residency at KISS Fresh Breakfast sees her waking up the nation and championing Black artists every single day. Outside of the world of radio, as a DJ Esi has taken to some iconic stages including Wireless Festival and Kokom, as well as playing for global artists such as Megan Thee Stallion.

The Black History Month-dedicated Start From Scratch is one of 50+ free events across Europe run by Pioneer DJ, as part of their commitment to increasing diversity within the DJ industry. Start From Scratch was created to support and encourage minoritised and underrepresented communities, creating a safe and productive space to nurture talent and close the gap.
