RUBEN'S REUBENS POPS UP IN PECKHAM

Love London

Following last years sell-out summer season, Peckham Arches - the 600-capacity botanical oasis located beneath the railway arches of Peckham Rye Station - is back with a bang, announcing the arrival of smoke house master Ruben’s Reubens, who will be taking up residency in the venues open kitchen over the summer.

Born out of lockdown, Ruben Dawnay began smoking meats and curing fish from his parents garden in Brixton, paying homage to his Polish-Jewish roots. After mastering his craft and creating a range of smoked delicacies, Ruben’s Reubens was born. With previous successful residences at the likes of Naughty Piglets, Meatopia and The Crooked Well, Ruben will be bringing his signature style to the Arches for a summer of incredible alfresco cooking.

Taking over the large open kitchen which is positioned as the central hub of the venue, Ruben will be bringing his two signature smokers to the Arches. Available Friday - Sunday, guests can enjoy a Meat Tray (£20) which in true Ruben’s style serves up a selection of smoked meats including smoked ¼ chicken, house lamb sausage and pulled pork shoulder served with flatbread, pickles and mustard BBQ sauce; alongside the Barbeque Veg Tray (£20) which features  charred hispi cabbage, smoked oyster mushroom, BBQ cauliflower, flatbread, pickles and mustard BBQ sauce. There will also be Pulled Pork Bun (£10) and  Pulled Mushroom Bun (£10) alternative available for those looking for a lighter bite, as well as a Tiramisu for dessert.

To compliment the barbeque flavours, guests can enjoy a selection of house made cocktails from the Peckham Arches bars, including the likes of Passionfruit Mezcalita, Picante and Lychee Martini (£11), as well as Bird House London’s own house lager and pale ale - which is brewed at sister venue Bird House Brewery in Herne Hill.

Offering so much more than a space to eat and drink, Peckham Arches boasts one of the largest all-weather outdoor terraces in South East London, a wood-fired pizza oven at sister bar Skylarking, a gallery with OHSH Projects, plus a monthly events calendar of live music, DJ’s, and food events with the likes of Wingjam. The team are also gearing up to support England in the Euro’s and will be showing all matches on screens throughout the venue from 14th June - 14th July.
