A COSY CITY STAY AT NATIVE KING'S WARDROBE, ST PAUL'S

Love London

Sometimes it's nicer to have a little home from home when you need somewhere to stay, which is exactly the vibe of the newest location in the Native Places portfolio, Native King's Wardrobe, St Paul's. The latest opening from the aparthotel brand, right opposite St Paul's Cathedral, opened its doors in April and marks the seventh property in the UK portfolio and the fourth in the capital, the second hotel offering after Bankside.

Formerly known as the Royal Wardrobe in the 14th century, Native King’s Wardrobe, St Paul’s served primarily as a storehouse for the King’s state and ceremonial robes, as well as those belonging to members of the Royal Family. Spread across seven Grade II listed townhouses inhabiting a beautiful and private courtyard, it's surprisingly quiet come nightfall considering it's a hub of the city during the day. We recently had a night in one of the 92 bright and spacious suites, each of which is kitted out with fully equipped kitchens (with tea and coffee provided), living and dining areas, and workspaces.

While some aparthotels we've experience in the past can be somewhat basic and clinical, this is anything but. Interiors and furniture are elegantly designed with Hypnos beds, Bramley toiletries, and tapestry prints from House of Hackney adorning the walls. This is the kind of vibe you'll find on many a Pinterest board (my own included...). With studios as well as one-, two- and three-bedroom suites, there's an accommodation to suit all needs. Elegant, comfortable and seriously stylish, for those seeking a longer term solution than just a night or two it's the best we've seen. We were really impressed with how cosy and comfortable the place was.

You'll also find COUNTER Café Bar & Courtyard on the premises, a lively neighbourhood space developed by Native Places which can also be found in its properties in Edinburgh and Manchester. During the day it's a cosy café serving up a menu of dishes all made from locally sourced, seasonal ingredients, pastries, sandwiches and drinks  - we tucked in to a very good breakfast offer of pancakes, fruit, juice and coffee. Come sun down, it transforms into a neighbourhood wine bar and a spot for local events.

Stays at Native King’s Wardrobe, St Paul’s start from £250 per night. Book online at www.nativeplaces.com.
