Kids in London - Enchanted!

KimT's London for Kids Blog

My ten year old daughter reports...This was quite a good film that mixes elements of Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and Cinderella. There were also some funny bits.

The story starts with the heroine telling the animals all about her dreams of a prince (just like in Snow White). Then an ogre chases her and she falls down and her dream prince catches her. He promises they will marry in the morning. But before she can meet with him the next morning, an old lady (who turns out to be the wicked step mother of the prince) shows her a wishing well and pushes her in. Through some clever magic this transports the princess into modern day New York City.

So there she is, all confused in the middle of the Street in a big dress and a storm starts. A guy called Robert comes to her aid and offers her his sofa for the night. Then the Prince follows her into New York with Pip her cute chipmunk (which is a really funny scene). Towards the end of the movie, the wicked stepmother/witch comes through also.

The ending - where the evil stepmother turned into a dragon - was the best bit. The film is PG although there are some scarey bits. It was a bit long though and some of the younger members of the audience started to get a bit restless towards the end. But it was a good Christmas treat.

She also reports that Odeon has a special offer where if you buy three tickets to see Alvin and the Chipmunks you get a free DVD of the first Garfield movie. Wow!

:Omg:
