International Women's Day Comes to London

Love London

International Women’s Day will once again be upon us next week and our fair city is celebrating the fairer sex with a host of events across the city.

The Mayfair Collective are launching 'The Women's Space' - a unique hub designed to celebrate and facilitate women of achievement. Taking place in a two-storey Edwardian townhouse and endorsed by the founding members and retailers of Mount Street, the concept will merge a lively and inclusive co-working space with an event space equipped to host a schedule of daily talks and events for members to attend.

Many of the retailers of Mount Street will be taking part, hosting talks and contributing to panel discussions. The Women's Space is a week long pop-up forming part of The Mayfair Collective, a year-long initiative of talks and workshops aimed at those interested in fashion, culture, business and the arts. www.themayfaircollective.co.uk

If you fancy hearing one seriously inspirational woman speak, Thursday night will see the amazing Vanessa Kingori (MBE) in conversation at The Hoxton Shoreditch. A publishing powerhouse, in 2015 she was appointed Publisher of British GQ making her the first female head, the youngest serving Publisher in the whole of Conde Nast and the first black Publisher in Conde Nast UK. Quite the list of achievements. For more information and to book a ticket visit www.thehoxton.com/hoxtown/events

Eclectic Soho venue 100 Wardour St will be hosting a special Gatsby Burlesque performance for one night only, on International Women’s Day itself. The Gatsby Burlesque Dancers will deliver a performance that is a little bit risqué, decadent, raunchy and damn good fun. Kicking off at 8pm, the dancers will meet and greet guests as they descend down the venue’s iconic spiral staircase to the Restaurant and Club for the 8.30pm show. Priced at £40 per person, guests will enjoy a glass of Champagne and a delicious 3 course meal.

After the show, soulful pop vocalist Izzy Chase will take to the stage to sing a selection of pop, soul and jazz classics with her band, The Izzy Quartet. For more information www.100wardourst.com
