Every so often a launch comes along that makes you wonder why it hasn't been done before. Just in time for Christmas, The Fragrance Shop has launched Scent Addict, a new monthly subscription service allowing fragrance fans to try before they buy.

Apparently 55% of consumers change their scent every day. I for one am a perfume whore; far from being loyal to one as my mother always has been, I have a dozen on the go, switching up for seasons and situations like it's going out of fashion. Scent Addict allows subscribers, for just £12 a month, the chance to try a luxury reusable 8ml atomiser of their chosen scent, from a list of over 200, including new launches.

Containing approximately 100 sprays, so enough for around a month's use, the atomiser will arrive on your doorstep within 14 days of choosing your scent. If you love it, you can redeem the £12 subscription cost against the price of full sized bottle either in-store or online using a unique discount code within your box. If you're not so sure, you can send the atomiser back and choose a new scent to try the next month.

Genius huh? You can choose scents up to 12 months in advance or wait until the last minute and customers can cancel any time, so if you find The One first time (lucky you...) there's no strings.

I've been lured in by the new Jean Paul Gaultier scent Scandal. Warm, deep and woody, it has a rich top note of honey accord and blood orange, with a gardenia heart and a base of patchouli, black vanilla and ambrox. Basically it's a sexy, sultry, seasonal scent and I've fallen hard.
