The Open Air Theatre in Regents Park hosts musical performances, comedy and theatre throughout the summer months. Shakespeare productions, musicals and children’s theatre take place on the outdoor stage between May and September. While the bar area is sheltered, the auditorium and stage are not, making it an event in itself trying to guess whether conditions will stay dry.
The Open Air Theatre is the only theatre of its kind in Britain, and its magical setting amongst the trees of Regents Park, which are adorned with fairy lights that switch on as the sun sets is like no other. Conveniently, there is a shop selling ponchos and rugs on the site should the skies turn murky; additionally there is a pre-theatre buffet serving hot and cold dishes, a tea and cake package and a bar serving alcoholic drinks, including English summer favourites such as Pimms. Tickets can be booked online and depending on where you sit can range between £10 to £50.
