While this museum focuses on the history of the borough of Wandsworth, the temporary exhibitions have broader appeal. At the time of writing for instance, an exhibition curated by the V&A and featuring the works of Picasso, Dali and Warhol is running. The permanent collection is divided into nature, culture and human life, all relating to the local area and how it has evolved over the centuries, so for instance you’ll find animal fossils found in the area as well as work by local artists. In 2007 the museum faced permanent closure, however three years later enough funds were gathered for it to be re-opened. Open Tuesday to Saturday, entry is £4. There is a shop and café on the site, as well as a soft play area for children and outdoors space.
