Bar Kick

All about the world music, imported beer and exotic attendees. You could just call it ‘international’ to sum it up in a fumbling way, except perhaps to mention that it's also a football bar, which helps it to be a bit different from most.

This is also Shoreditch High Street's premier table football venue, which isn't saying much unless perhaps there was a bar next door exclusively dedicated to the table sport, in which case this would probably still be better. Probably. Atmosphere for big league matches, World Cups, European Championships etc is crazy and it's standing room only unless you set up early.

Going back to the international thing, the clientele’s made up largely of southern Europeans and South Americans and that helps to dilute the increasingly ever present Shoreditch stag dos and keep it friendly and relaxed, if a little frenzied at times (in a good way).

Some people might know it just for the sport but the mixture of music from the DJs packs out Friday nights and its tiny dining area serves 'Kick Classics' like potato gnocchi with cherry tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella and a daily specials list that's a menu in itself. One problem for some might be the lack of draught beer, which means no pints, instead there's a big range of imported beers, including Desperados, Super Bock and Vedett as well as cocktails.

Kick is a good choice when you crave the football but need a little more than a dingy pub to watch it in.
