I agree with Liberal’s post that the Club is excellent. The building is a Victorian masterpiece designed Alfred Waterhouse who was also responsible for the Natural History Museum. The Smoking Room (now sadly non smoking….), Dining Room and Bar are Victorian masterpieces and must be the most impressive in London Clubland. The Chef seems to use only the finest ingredients particularly if you like red meat. Service is friendly so long as you are not caught using a mobile ‘phone. A strictly enforced dress code ensures the elegance of the place is not offset by the presence of scruffy people – marvellous!
Certainly worth a 10 star rating!

An excellent venue. The food is by far the best of any club, indeed the Head Chef is rated the best of London's gentlemen's clubs. The overall decor is very grand late-Victorian, making this one of the larger and more elaborate clubs to dine in. The dining room is an amazing oak-panelled relic lined with pictures and busts of Gladstone, overlooking the Thames. The bar and smoking room look stunning, and are perfect for drinks before and afterwards. The food is a reasonable price (c.£30-40 for 3 courses), and the Chateaubriand Vert Pré is definitely worth a try. The only downside is that the bar can be a bit dear, but no more so than many trendy central London bars.
