All In London Review
A small local with a lot going on - not least the vinyl jukebox.
Peculiarly, just a few days after visiting The Snooty Fox in Canonbury, we encountered just such a fox in an area not too far from the pub. No word of a lie, a beautiful, bushy tailed specimen strode right passed us – not five yards away – and gave us the kind of look that could have put even the stuffiest, monocle-wearing gentleman to shame. So there you are, snooty foxes aren’t just a snappy pub name. Next to find a cat running away with some mutton, a red lion and an ape socialising with a bird.
But on to the pub. The Snooty Fox is a bit of a gem. A small local with a lot going on. From a great food menu served from the open kitchen to some cracking vinyl nights this is a pub that gets the balance between grown-up boozer and late night bar right on. On the taps there is perhaps the best range of ales in the area. Local brews dominate the lineup and you’ll find the likes of Redemption, East London Brewing and Sambrooks from the cask. The kitchen offers something a little different too. Deviating from the usual tried and tested pub food, The Snooty Fox has a daily rotisserie kept spinning, which means farm-fresh chicken and a range of sides to accompany.
Vintage music posters are scattered around the pub and a pristine jukebox brings those pictured poster stars to life with its collection of 45’s. Vinyl-only music machines are pretty rare these days, so more love to The Snooty Fox. DJs play a mixture of Northern Soul, 60’s Garage and Rock ‘n’ Roll across the weekend and if you can’t dance to that, then you just can’t hear music.

Snooty by name, snooty by nature – when it comes to music at least. This vinyl-only jukebox is one of the best around, stocked with a collection of rare, not so rare and popular rock ‘n’ roll 45’s.
