All In London Review

Buzzy buzzy buzzy... try Saturday nights with downstairs music and dance!

The Club is snuggled in Warwick Street right opposite a firm of West End property agents (where the friend who helped me discover this little gem some months ago works - thanks!). So that's just off Regent Street and close to Piccadilly Circus for those of you who are sat nav challenged.

It is a venue of many faces. As you peer through the large, glass front it looks like any ordinary wine bar cum restaurant with couples dotted around the tables where you can have a conversation without having to shout.

It offers reasonably priced wine (a very drinkable Chenin Blanc for £16) and cocktails too. On occasions they do special features – once when I was there they had joined the Spanish festival in London. Often I am only up for a light bite, so I often choose a burger. It’s ok, but nothing special. Mind you, we watched some people at the next table sample one of the specialities – a sort of erupting mousse that looked fantastic.

If you move through to the back part of the place you arrive at a very lively and often crowded bar - with lots of stools and bar space, and many very happy bright young (professional) things having a good time. Buzzy buzzy buzzy.

Mostly I go there with the girls after work on a weekday evening. But there appears to be a good number of younger couples eating informally. And a fair number of groups. And lots of workers – some from offices, some from the nearby retail establishments. And a sprinkling of trendy young things – both male and female.

Apparently, if you have the stamina to stay up late (and some of us just can't manage that these days) there is even a music and dance area downstairs where, I am reliably informed, it is particularly fun on Saturday nights (too bad I was there on Friday!). I hope that someone reading this gives it a go on a Saturday and let's me know....

Great venue. Great bar. Good drinks. But some might find the food a bit disappointing. I have seen some reviews about poor and rude service, but I have always been impressed with the staff there. On one occasion we had sat at a reserved table and when the people arrived we were politely helped to move to another table. So no complaints on the service from me.
