The George Shillibeer

George Shillibeer brought the omnibus to London's streets, and standing on the site of one of his original omnibus depots is The George Shillibeer pub and kitchen. Extensive renovations and new ownership have breathed life back into this historical establishment, making it a vibrant venue which is a welcome addition to the local area.

The Butcher & Barrel Pub Company‚s 7th site and their first in Islington is dedicated to quality, great value food and drinks in comfortable, stylish surroundings. The George Shillibeer offers its guests a choice of dining in the 50 seater restaurant, in the bar area or in the private dining room, which seats 30. It can also accommodate buffet and canapé parties.
The George Shillibeer‚s menus bring fresh, seasonal and, wherever possible, locally-sourced produce to your table at fantastic prices. Available from midday until 5pm is a recession- busting £5 hearty lunch menu, or you can choose from the lighter lunch menu too, including sandwiches and jacket potatoes.

Being a free house, The George Shillibeer has a wide range of beers and ciders from around the world and 6 hand pumps of real ale for the aficionados out there. If beer isn‚t the answer, there is a small but perfectly formed cocktail list.

Shillibeer‚s will be open as a pub and kitchen Monday to Friday, but on Saturdays and Sundays is a private event venue, hosting weddings, Christenings, Bah mitzvahs and birthdays to name but a few. The striking, versatile space allows large parties a wealth of options for up to 250 people, until 2am.
