In a similar fashion to its 1851 namesake, the Great Exhibition is a glorious space in which free thinking people can celebrate the wonders of life. The exhibits today may not be as weird and wonderful as those that came from the four corners of the world all those years ago, but if you like to witness great food, beer and service in a convivial atmosphere and an off the wall environment, then the Great Exhibition has all the exhibits you need.

All In London Review

There are so many good reasons to visit this lovely neighbourhood pub...

Review Image
There are pubs and then there are pubs… and the Great Exhibition is definitely the latter. Can we keep it a secret? No, then All In London wouldn’t be doing its job. And All In London always does its job.

Set in residential peace, this striking pub is a local’s dream. On the stretch of Crystal Palace Road that links Peckham way and East Dulwich, you’d need a pointer to stumble on its charm. And having been given that pointer we will definitely be returning regularly. Spacious, classic and cosy, we turn up to sample on a Saturday night and find a DJ playing slow soul, swing and a little jazz for good measure. Dancing occurs but the majority of the thirty-something clientele mouth the words and head nod at big tables spaced evenly across the wooden floorboards.

The long bar doesn’t go over the top with its choice of beers but the Belgian Affligem is a good addition as is the solid ale selection. Throughout the week there are good reasons beyond the stylish interior to visit. Lucky Wednesday offers you the chance to roll a six on the dice at the bar to win a free main meal (from the menu that includes burgers, fish & chips, pulled pork and jerk chicken) and live music is a regular weekly thing.

Given that the Great Exhibition is out on its own we can pay it no greater compliment than saying we would happily travel across London for the odd night at this neighbourhood local.
