The White Lion has a very relaxing and friendly atmosphere. They serve a variety of traditional pub meals including a Sunday roast that is very popular. There is a range of entertainment including a fruit machine, golf machine, pool table, games room, dart board and Sky TV showing coverage of all major sporting events. Seating in the garden area is provided. The kitchen is closed on Saturday.

Few pubs on Earth have this much charisma and it's all down to Philomena. Phil is a mercurial host with a spirit so upbeat, she could broker peace in a war zone. Every Thursday night for 16 years, we made the White Lion our home for humble beer, darts, pool and a natter at the bar, always at the bar, with Phil and her fab staff. They'd rustle up a platter of sarnies, or chips & bangers. As London develops and loses its old soul, the fabric of society will die unless places like this survive. Please save the White Lion from gastro-devolopitis and let Phil carry on doing what she loves.

We've played on the football pitches opposite this wonderful establishment for over 25 years until recently. It has proved a superb watering hole no matter what our results over the years. It's an integral part of the local community and a wonderful example of how a pub and a sporting complex can work hand in hand and contribute to the income of a local area. So glad that it recovered from the devastating fire earlier this year. It simply wouldn't be a thursday without it.

Hi
Just to let you know The White Lion is currently closed due to an accidental fire. I am not sure if will be re-opened but it was a lovely pub ran by a very nice land lady Philomena. Always had a nice crowd in there the street it just too quiet now :( Bring back The White Lion!!!!

Well, if I had to choose a pub in central London, that would definitely be the White Lion! Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, cold beer and the most important : the best hostess ever. I cannot remember a single time that I've been there and Philomena was not smiling. Always eager to serve us a few pints - maybe more that a few. She and her girls behind the bar. The best combination!
Hey Phil, hope u'll see this and give us your huge smile and hug cause u're always there for us!! Cheers

My 5-a-side football team convened here on a Saturday afternoon after we played a match at the nearby Finsbury Leisure Centre. While the kitchen was closed (as is posted on Saturdays), the staff at the White Lion were very accommodating in that they helped us order a pizza, kept pulling cold pints, and had ample bar snacks available. Beyond that, the rugby match was being shown on the big screen, and the billiards table + darts board were never crowded. Excellent, attentive, and friendly staff, combined with enough parlour games to never go bored, make this pub a great choice for a weekend kick-back. In this reviewer's opinion, I cannot foresee being let down if you're out for a cold one with friends.
