Just wanted to share my recent experience of Parvinu. It is easy to miss it's on the right of St Margarets station downstairs. I cannot believe how great it is when you walk in - not at all what you would expect - and for us that first impression was the wow factor.
The atmosphere is great. Staff are lovely, cheerful and interesting. Eclectic furniture and chandeliers I would love in the house but have been told we don't have room!
We had a superb meal at the weekend, when it was really busy and buzzy. There's a new menu which they apparently put in last week and its great. The manager George was brilliant and proudly explained that one of the starters we had ordered had been one of his mother's secret recipes! Really good ideas on the menu, interesting sounding dishes and the taste of the one's we had was really superb.

It's great to finally have a place nearby that doesn't just do the usual gastropub type menu and isn't the usual run of the mill place. They've obviously given all of it a lot of thought and we think everyone should know about it, which is why we wanted to share our experience.

If I didn't live nearby in Twickenham I would travel miles to go to Parvinu - a real breath of fresh air for London. We'd recommend it very highly.

Parvinu is a hidden gem, great to pile off the train at St Margarets and step next door into a bar that is uniquely individual, very friendly staff and just the right mix of having a great buzz yet private. They know how to make a good cocktail too!

If you haven't tried their fish and chip supper yet on a Friday evening then you are missing a real treat - a nice bit of tradition with a tasty eclectic twist - we love it,a great way to kick start the weekend.

Last weekend we celebrated my father's birthday there - the ribeye steak was cooked to perfection and the slow cooked pork belly delicious.

Thank you guys - you always make us feel so welcome, never disappoint and it's a real treat to have you there!

I went to Parvinu last night, it was my 54th birthday and we arrived as a group four couples at 8.00 p.m. To cut a long story short, the atmosphere was buzzing but the meas and service were dreadful. Our main courses eventually arrived at 10.30. Out of the eight mains, six were awful and the average price of a main course was £20. My starter was three good sized prawns but without any of the chillie dressing that had been promised. I had sea bass as my main course, which arrived after an hours wait overcooked, dry, tastless and accompanied by one and a half boiled potatoes and nothing else. The sea bass course was £22.50. I ate mine, because I never send food back (I just don't return), but three others returned their food.

We skipped the manager's offer of free deserts because we assumed they would probably have tasted foul. After much deliberation with the "management" the bill was reduced to £150 so I guess we should be grateful that the management realised how hopeless they were and deducted about £170 from the bill by. As we left the "manager" said "please don't come back"...well don't worry, we never will. It's a shame that with so many restaurants going through hard times, this one is still in business.

To sum up, the ambience and setting is great but the food, the service and the prices were a bad joke.
