All In London Review
Compact, unpretentious Dalston fun
A place of many talents, The Passage delivers cocktails, food and music daily. Breakfast is served from 10am till 4pm and there is a creative food menu (along with some excellent triple cooked chips) for dinner. Cocktails are classics (amaretto sours) or twists on them (chilli mojito). We turn up at 6pm on a Saturday night and while the bar is quiet the £5 cocktail happy hour makes up for that. And it doesn’t take long to fill up and morph into a club space - by 9pm the DJ is on, the lights are low and people are already dancing. As well as club nights, The Passage hosts live music and pop-up events.
There might not be much more to The Passage than a bar, a DJ booth and a few tables but there is a positive atmosphere that starts with the manager/barman and spreads. If one of your friends opened up a bar you’d want it to be like this. Compact, unpretentious fun.
