A totally fed up customer

I was about to fly in from abroad where I live as Barclays has taken my account hostage. I thought by appearing in person the problem could be resolved. On trying to find my branch address I discovered my branch had closed. Sudbury on Thames. I then waited 21 minutes (whch cost a fortune) only to ask where my account had gone. A fruitless exercise as no one answered. Feltham branch popped up as the next point of contact. Can you ring them ? No. Can you email them? No. Am I going to fly to England to a Branch which might not have my account? No. Ridiculous. Barclays have forgotten their older customers who aren't jazzy with mobile phones or computers. I'm amazed I have found this !! The only reason I need to close my account is because Barclays is closing it . Brexit apparently. Mental stress to a 90 year old is no joke.

I went to your Feltham branch of Barclays bank with my mum to draw some money out of her account, we were standing outside, then we moved inside but only for the assistant Sue to tell us to wait outside even though there’s was plenty of space inside l was not impressed. Once we got to the cash machine my mum drew out the money she needed but there’s was no information about getting a receipt, so l asked the assistant she said there was a button we should of pressed for the receipt but it didn’t come up so asked her if she could you get us one and she said no you can use the other machine to get one but l was not prepared to wait again and l said this bank is useless and the worst one for customer service. Also my mum doesn’t like using the machine she is 86 years old and she wanted £5.00 notes but the machine doesn’t give them. I was very unimpressed with this bank. She would rather use the counter service to get her money out and get the denomination of the notes she want. The bank should be there for the customer not what the staff wants.
