CMW Cars

I agree with the last review. A couple of years ago I bought a car in a hurry after my old one died on me suddenly. Christmas was fast approaching and I had no time to look around so I went to CMW as they were my local dealer. They were reluctant to let me have a test drive because there was a bit of snow on the ground and the lady who accompanied me couldn't wait to get me back to the showroom. I think my test drive lasted all of about six minutes. I purchased the car anyway because I was desperate but, to paraphrase the old saying: buy in haste, repent at leisure. After buying the car, I did my research, (wrong way round, I know) comparing my new car to others on the market and I was shocked at how expensive my vehicle had been. Newer models of my car, with higher specs and less miles were over £1,000 less.

I've had a few problems with the vehicle but each time I've approached CMW they've seemed reluctant to help and tried to give me the brush-off. You have to very persistant before they'll do anything. It seems that once they have your money, they wash their hands of you.

I wouldn't recommend this dealer to anyone and I certainly won't be using them again, however desperate I am!

I would recommend this company to anyone! I have now bought several cars off them. My latest car i bought last week!! There was no problem with me having a test drive on several cars to which i ended up buying a Golf, after i bought the vehicle there was a minor problem with the window wiper, The MD came out HIMSELF picked the car up, got the window wiper fixed and delivered my car back to me the next day and (to of no extra charge may i add!!!)I would recomed this company to ANYONE, 12 years now i have used this dealer for my cars and never ever had one problem.

On the face of things a great thriving company with longevity. However, cars are very expensive and CMW have no time for you once they sell you a car. So pray that you DO find a genuine motor from them. All the staff are cery friendly but they are slightly pushy and forget taking a car for a test drive unless you commit to buy a vehicle!!! I wouldn't recommend these guys myself, I'm in the car trade and write articles for a local paper in Croydon. I spend time going undercover reporting on the used car sales trade so it's my vocation to document. Anyway- approach with care, Mick100
