This is not a "greasy spoon" and is a well established cafe in West Norwood. I've been eating here for about 16 years because the owner, Susie and her staff are friendly, welcoming and attentive. You can choose from a great menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner and enjoy well cooked, well presented and generous dishes. When the main dining area is full - especially on weekends, there's a large and comfortable covered garden in the back.
Unlike many of the more recent places to eat that are now available in West Norwood, Sorrento is unpretentious as are most of its customers. It is becoming increasingly difficult to avoid the hordes of young, white middle classes who have colonised Brixton and West Norwood over recent years. Sorrento provides some relief from them. ;-)
