Since I wrote my last review just below this one, things have gone down hill over the last few years They have now become substitute specialists. Their cod is no longer cod. They substitute a much inferior whitefish, passing it off as cod. The fake cod is disguised by the thick batter. Sad to see they are now disreputable. Make sure you ask if the fish you are being served is definitely CODFISH and not some other fish. The chips are still good.

A genuine working class chippy. Hard working staff. The fish is top quality. The chips are perfectly done. The prices reflect the working class area it is in, and are not rip-off prices as seen in nearby higher rent areas, i.e. on average three £££ pounds cheaper (med cod & chips) than another trendy chippy a 15 minute walk away. Even the wrapping is standard old time wrapping paper in a requested thin take away plastic carrier bag and not the Super trendy big foil lined cardboard box inside a giant sized super thick brown paper bag with big handles. A traditional chippy. Well worth it !

Best chip shop I've ever used. Not to expensive and the staff are always friendly. Over the 20 years I have been going there I have never had a complaint with the food. Would recommend.

Blue sea has been my favourite fish and chip shop for a while. They always have the best quality fish and chips, no frozen fish like I've come asross in some shops. Their chips is always succulent and melts in your mouth, not dry. The service is friendly and warm. I definitely recommend visiting
