I joined LA Fitness - Moscow Road in Jan 2010, not long after their refurbishment and thought that the gym looked great. Shortly after I joined I noticed that their men’s shower rooms were not always very clean and staff were often unprofessional and hogging the equipment.
I understand that the gym is a business and therefore it is necessary to run it efficiently, but having contractors onsite during open hours to replace wall mirrors and carry out other major works is unfair to the members and the company should be willing to spare the out of hours costs for the repairs.
I used the gym 3-4 times per week and 1 week there were 3 treadmills broken and not fixed until the following week, two water fountains also broken and not fixed in any rush, a problem with the water meaning no showers at all.

There was an occasion when one of the fitness classes was rescheduled to a different time and the members were not notified, many of us plan the gym around our work and other responsibilities and the person in charge of running the gym should be aware of that and take the members needs into consideration.

LA Fitness Queensway has a large number of members which I believe is due to its location, this often makes it impossible to train or use locker/shower facilities, so if you work office hours and are planning to join get a couple of free passes and visit in the morning and after 5pm. The free weight area is no bigger than 4x5 meters which can make training difficult when everyone is using a bench.

If you are planning to join a gym in the area in my opinion there are better gyms with similar prices. I don't want to market any other company so I will not mention names, but I have recently changed to another gym in the area for £10p/m more, with fewer members, a much larger training area, better and more equipment with overall higher standards.

There has been a change of management recently at this gym and I hope that the standards go up for its current memebers
