Useful Tips from AIL Users
Remember to ask the staff for advice. They aren't pushy sales people so they won't jump on you as you enter the store, but if you do want advice or help they will all be happy to oblige!

Fantastic frames and fantastic service! There is so much variety and the quality of the products is second to none. I've been coming here for years now and thought I should probably write them a review as they've looked after me so well.

The frames are of bad quality, sheer plastic, bad hinges, they are all too small which makes you feel like you have a huge head and face, the prices are ridiculously high for the frames quality. Please be aware that shop does not do any refunds, do not expect that any of 4 shop-assistants says tha

Visited after reading positive reviews about the selection of vintage style frames. I was the only customer, with 3 members of staff. I had to explain why I needed a magnifying mirror while trying on frames (can't see well without my glasses); this prompted whispering, giggling, bovine stares and more whispering and giggling between the staff. I left the store. The most remarkable episode of bad customer service I have experienced - anywhere.
I would suggest mature, trained staff as an improvement.

This place discretely supplies the famous & has been around since start of 80s. Been going there for many years. Try to avoid busy periods as at many times too many tourists & browsers.Best to make an appointment and allow yourself plenty of time as there are literally 1000s of styles, sizes variations in retro glasses. If money is no issue then you can even have a pair handmade & redesigned. Staff generally leave you alone & are not pushy at all unlike many other outlets & chain opticians but I have known the guys here for years. If you end up buying a pair then you will be well satisfied & bound to return.

I visited Opera Opera Opticians with a friend as I was looking for a pair of unusal glasses. There were 3 people working there and no one asked us if we needed any assistance, and if that wasn't bad enough, they just stood there watching us as we started to browse through the range! after a few minutes we felt so uncomfortable that we left. I think their service is appaulling and I don't understand why they would not go out of their way to make us feel welcome - it's not like we were being loud or dressed scruffy etc... I'd much rather spend my money else where than on these rude people who provide such appaulling service. If I could rate this a '0' I would.
