Terrible. Avoid. Overcharging and horrible service.

Really terrible estate agents. We had countless arguments with them over issues that should have been simple to resolve. They were patronising, unhelpful and rude. They charge extortionate admin fees on entry AND exit of the tenancy, even, if you want to extend the tenancy. I would never use them again and would advise others to steer well clear.

Tenant for 12 Months 2010.

The company is based on sales alone and has appauling customer service and numerous charges.

Admin fee of around £300. This also occurs again if a flat is rented for another 12 months (despite no admin being required).

Inventory check fee of £250. This involves a 30 minute inventory check at the start of the tenancy, followed by a 3 hour check at the end. We moved into an unclean house but left it spotless at the end. Because they spend 3 hours during the checkout they identify extra scuffs/wear and tear that wasnt documented during the check-in.

Deposits (6 weeks rent) take 30 days to be returned - putting cashflow pressure on subsequent accommodation.

My new accommodation required a reference check. I provided them with Gordon and Co details. When I called G&C to check whether the reference company had been in contact they said no one had been in touch (and were rude about it).

I spoke to the reference company who had sent 3 emails, 1 fax and had 2 recorded conversations with G&C's residential management team.

Avoid this company at all costs.
