I have to say that this is a lovely boutique hair saloon that I only wished i had found years ago. The staff are so lovely and friendly, especially my hairdresser Ahmed. I have had my last two Yuko hair treatments by Ahmed and on both occasions my hair has turned out lovely and has managed to hold the treatment for a good 10 months. I can't recommend this salon highly enough, so if you can make the journey to Victoria Grove, you won't be disappointed.

Last week I went to Equus hair Salon in Victoria Grove, I had the most pleasant experience as well as being very happy with my hair. I had Highlights, a complimentary treatment and a cut and blow dry. I was welcomed to the salon by the friendly receptionist and was offered a coffee, I was then introduced to my hairdresser. My hair was beautiful and shiny. I am very pleased with the results and will definitely visit them again. Next time I will also book a pedicure while I have my hair done. A double treat..

Equus hair was terrible, the staff were rude and unfriendly and the customers seemed an annoyance to them. I wasn't offered a drink when i came in, just barked at to sit down, the hairdresser seemed irritated and glared at me when her next customer came as she was still dying my hair. She didn't speak to me at all. The man cutting my hair didn't seem to understand what I wanted as his English wasn't very good and then told me he was really stressed at the end and just left me in my seat to see another customer without asking me if everything was ok, showing me the back of my hair with a mirror or directing me towards reception- so odd! They had one regular customer come in whom they endlessly fussed over but neglected everyone else. I didn't think the cuts they were doing were very good, everyone seemed really unhappy! When I politely tried to talk to them about it they weren't interested, hence why I'm writing this.

Used a voucher for my half head highlights and cut. Very friendly guy did the colour and I went with his suggestions - and was very pleased with result. The cut was the best I have ever had, the only time in the past few years I have ended up with a style I can manage myself without straightners, products and lots of time with the brushes. I can definitly wash, rough dry and go. Looking at the other reviews I cannot believe they went to the same salon . Do people not expect the hairdresser - who is the expert- to give the colour or treatment they consider is right for the customer. I was witness to a very difficult client on my visit who wanted to dictate how her hair should be coloured despite 2 colourists spending a considerable amount of time explaining they could not make her look like a picture she had brought along.

If miracles or complete makeovers are what is wanted then no hairdresser is going to make a client happy.

I was very pleased with the result and will be going again when next cut is due

BTW I am not a sloaney - just ordinary business woman

I also went on the £55 voucher for a half head of highlights, conditioning treatment, cut and blow dry.

First, the highlights: I had an extremely brief chat with the guy doing colour before he disappeared off to do the mix up. He gave my hair only a cursory glance and didn't pay much attention to what I said I wanted. As such, I didn't get what I wanted - I'm lighter than I had hoped to be. As for the technique, he slapped the colours on very quickly without much skill or blending them in properly with my existing colour (I'm used to going to Toni & Guy and every colourist I've had takes the time and effort to do this). I'm visibly stripy.

Conditioning treatment? What conditioning treatment? Absolutely no mention of this.

Then the cut: again, I wasn't listened to by the guy when I tried to explain what I wanted - I think he fancied himself as an "artist" and did as he pleased. He did layer it through as I described but the top layers are far far too short and even though I was visibly uncomfortable he kept going. It is also quite uneven as he kept saying he liked my type of hair (thick and wavy) to be "natural" even though I explained I straighten it... I think a good hair stylist should listen to you regarding your hair care routine at home and how the style will fit in your life, and he certainly didn't do this.

The salon itself: it is a "Knightsbridge society" salon and as such is full of rich Sloaney women aged over 50. I'm 23 and felt very out of place!

So yeah, I won't be going back.

The worst hair salon experience I have had to date!I received a voucher for this salon for a half head of highlights, a conditioning treatment and a cut and blow dry. Firstly, I had to wait 10 minutes just for the recpeptionist to acknowledge me, she wasn't particularly busy and was dismissive. The colourist didn't have a colour chart and just asked what colour I wanted. As expected the end result wasn't what I wanted! When I expressed this the colourist had no time to change the colour the same day and requested I make another appoinment...I found this very unprofessional and meant not only that I had to walk around with a colour I did not like for a few days but I had to pay for transport back another day! There was another colourist sitting around doing nothing, who could have fixed my hair! They seemed to have forgotten about the deep conditioning treatment altogether. The haircut was okay and the hairdresser was polite. I returned couple of days later. This time I had to wait 25 minutes for the colourist to finish with a client. All the while he was having a lengthy chat with the other client without bothering to let me know he was running a little late. So I had to sit there and wait! When he finally did get to me. He asked what the problem was and made it difficult for me to explain what I wanted. He was being very defensive without wanting to sort my hair colour. He still didn't produce a colour chart! After the colour the colourist washed my hair and said he would give me a hairdryer! He left and didn't come back to me. I had to ask other staff for a hairdryer and brush and quickly blow-dried my hair myself, I felt very uncomforatble by this point. . What was suppose to be a pampering experience turned out to be the most humiliating experience. I witnessed the highest level of snobbery and disregard toward me as a client. I expected a better result from this exclusive salon as it was in Knightsbridge but was bitterly disappointed!

My sister got an offer on hair straightening at this high street hair salon. They advertise Yuko straightening but they're quite rubbish at it. The service was quite commendable at first, but the hair straightening got washed out in a day leaving hair greasy and smelly. Having undergone Yuko straightening earlier, I can assure you that they don't use Yuko certified procedures because the effects are absolutely horrendous. Her hair got frizzy and curly in a few days. She called up the salon and reported that it went frizzy and they offered to do it again with a free manicure thrown in. Again it was initially impressive service which didn't deliver in the end, the second time over the hair straightening DID NOT WORK and the manicure offered was not even mentioned during her visit. The staff was kind but they lacked attention to detail. It was Yuko gone wrong because her hair smelt of ammonia when she washed it out on the second day. I had to put in deodarant on her hair to make it less smelly. I definitely would not recommend this place for another visit. It was a waste of money and time.
