I visited Radiant salon in Bermondsey after a very long time (11years), the salon had been revamped and looked clean and nice. I liked that I could request a booking online, I did so late on Thursday night and received a call in the morning to confirm.
When I arrived there after work, I was well received by Chanel and Sam who took my coat and offered a drink; it was downhill from then onwards! Well, after Sam the beautician applied the base to my scalp (which I must say he did without any trauma to my hair or scalp). Prior to that, the head stylist, Tracy had greeted me in a half sulk and asked me to take a seat, I was not offered a gown but had a towel thrown over me and proceeded to manhandle my hair by tugging and combing forcefully and when I winced, she offered a comb to me to comb my hair myself, I should have left at that point but didn't because I wanted my hair relaxed! I had to request for a gown, it should be standard practice surely!!
Tracy then parted my hair, applied the relaxer and combed with such aggression. When he washed my hair, I had a face bath too, outrageous!
I had my hair roller set by the junior stylist named Pauline, she did not reposition the plastic pins that held the rollers in front and I was left with marks on my forehead. When the rollers were taken out, Tracy then proceeded to blow my hair out with a sort of Afro comb attached to the hair dryer and applied some oil to my hair; I was mortified! I'd never known anything like it! She didn't really care whether I was pleased or not. Tracy may have had 18 years hairdressing experience but I doubt she went to a hairdressing school, I can style my hair much better than she did!
I will not be going back there nor will I recommend Radiant salon to anyone!
