Perhaps the worst service I've had, registration was a nightmare and then finally told that I'd be better off going to a walk in service.
No wonder so many ex service personnel don't catch their issues till it's beyond treatment

IWhen you have other queries the option to speak to the secretary does not alow you to leave a message. I will really appreciate if the receptionist will pick the phone, I have been calling for 3 days just for a simple enquiry but nobody to speak to or drop a message for.

I have to agree with previous reviewers comments; the receptionist are jumped up little hitlers, who are incapable of acting decently towards patients. What they seem to forget is that if it were not for patients they would not have a job.

If you have an emergency appointment it will always be with the Practice Nurse, at which point you realise that you have met the most incompetent individual in the NHS.

The doctors on the other hand are on the whole very good bar one.

I have to say that Newbie has given a very accurate review of the surgery and i couldnt agree more. I have been registerd with this surgery for over 10 year's and i also beleive that the main let down of the surgery is the receptionists. They are quite abrupt and don't seem to enjoy there profession very much. I have been made to feel like i am being a awkward if i need an emergency apointment for my young children. But the thing that is most anoying is that when i am on the phone trying to explain myself i feel like i am being constantley interupted and cut of mid scentence. The Dr's and nurse's that i have encountered on the other hand are very good and they are the reason i have stayed all these year's

I have been with this surgery for approximately 2 years now.

The surgery has an 0844 number, so calling can be expensive, especially when trying to get through for an urgent appointment first thing in the morning, and they are late opening the phone lines as you are charged a connection fee even when you get the pre-recorded message to say they are currently closed.

The doctors are excellent, although they are always very behind on the clinics, and I have only ever been seen within 10 mins of my appointment time once. I have waited over 1 hour before, but they are good once you get seen. The nurses usually run on time, and are excellent.

The receptionists are the main let down of this surgery, they can be quite unapproachable, and decidedly rude. I have encountered this on a number of occasions, down to booking appointments, or a general query. They are generally unhelpful, and appear to resent being there generally. They ask the reason you want to see the doctor when you book an urgent appointment, and become rather abrupt with you if you say it is personal or you'd rather only tell the doctor. However, you no longer need to speak to them to book in for an appointment now, as they have an electronic check-in system where you enter your date of birth and house number to book yourself in.

I have encountered a problem needing an emergency appointment in the afternoon for my baby. I ran the surgery to explain the nursery had rung me at work and asked me to collect my daughter immediately, and take her straight to the GP. I had the information of what was wrong, but obviously had not yet seen my daughter. I rang the surgery and they said to ring back when I arrived at the nursery in 10 minutes, and they would talk to the doctor. I rang ahead as the clinic was due to end in 30 mins. I rang back and was told the clinic had ended early and the doctor had left! I went to A&E who aked why I hadn't gone to the GP. When I explained they were horrified!
