Banking with Barclays for more than 10 years I am now considering pulling out all my portfolios as recent structure changes makes it impossible to be on common ground with this Bank.

I also have had a bad experience attempting to contact Barclays Bank. I am now convinced they are some form of secret society.
The business I represent has a £2million turnover, presumably too small for Barclays to bother with, if so what must you do or what size must you be to speak to Barclays.

Rang the generic 0845 755 5555 telephone number to ask a general question. I was asked twice to enter an account or card number to make it easier for Barclays to access my details, but as I do not have an account, was unable to do so. Having found out (at my expense as it's not a free phone number!) that I could talk to an operative just by being patient, I hung on.......only to get connected to an operative who was having a bad day and instantly cut me off!
My husband then rang the same number and was able to talk to someone who insisted that he needed to know my husband's name and sort code to offer any assistance. Why? All we want to know is whether a particular branch has a coin counting machine and whether the loose coins have to be in 'bagged amounts' (i.e. £20 of £1 coins, £5 of 5p pieces) or can we actually bank odd amounts!
My husband DOES have a Barclays account but after this fiasco is seriouly considering taking his fortune (!) elsewhere!
Please also bear in mind that the 0845 755 5555 telephone number puts you through to a call centre in India, so no general advice is even remotely possible. Disgusting!
