I live in the area and often stop by as it's close to my house. That being said, in 3+ years of going here, I've only ever bought a hi-vis vest and a helmet for my daughter. Reason being that when in need of a repair I've been told it would take days (even to change a tire), when asking about replacement parts I get treated like and ignorant idiot or in general, never even noticed when in the shop. Will never understand a shop that bases it's business on the public treating their customers so badly UNLESS you are a bike aficionado. Thankfully we have many smaller, friendlier shops around.

the worst bike shop i have used. Expensive, terrible customer service and long waits.

Our whole family have been using London Fields Cycles since we moved to the area six years ago. We have bought several bikes and loads of bits from them.
The service has always been top notch. I can thoroughly recommend them.

I was shocked when I went into this bike shop to realise that they don't do any repairs or fittings on a weekend. On top of this, the staff had no idea how to recommend me the right tyre. When I told them I had already bought tyres that didn't fit they tried to sell me the same sized tyres. It is not a bike shop in the sense of having helpful and expert staff, but merely an outlet selling overpriced equipment. You are far better off going to well known branded shop. Unfortunately there aren't any nearby. I'm hoping one will open up in Hackney soon, as the existing shops are woefully inadeq

So I recently had my original 1984 vintage bike done up and I have to say that I am thoroughly disappointed with the service. My bike had all original, priceless features on with a shiny non-working dynamo, that was removed and disposed of even though I specifically asked for it to be kept there. I have been in touch with Robin, the owner who got me an ugly cheap black replacement and told me the original dynamo was worthless anyway so take it or leave it. As far as I'm concerned, it added value to my bike and I would advice anyone who goes there to give it a miss.

Don't expect much from these guys:
I had my 6mth old Brompton serviced by them, and less than a week later the back suspension fell off on my cycle home - could have been disasterous. Went back the next morning and rather than being apologetic the manager/owner denied it had anything to do with their service. Even if it 'wasn't their fault' surely their mechanic would have noticed that the suspension block nut was loose if he was doing a thorough job? They repaired the suspension in the end - I sent Brompton pictures of their bodged repair job, Brompton wrote back saying that their repair wasn't up to scratch. Brompton were great - they sent me replacement parts free of charge.
I will definitely not be trusting my bike with these guys again - they don't seem to know what they're doing - and have no concept of customer service.
On another note I ordered a Brooks seat cover from them - took them several weeks to get it in, when it finally arrived, I went to the shop to pick it up - and they couldn't find it! - despite having ordered it specially for me, and it showing up as 'in stock' on their computer. Absolute amateurs.
They also have a really limited range of bikes and accessories - I wanted to buy a rear-vision mirror - the only one they had on their rack had a cracked mirror!
Save yourself the hassle - buy your bike somewhere else! and definitely don't risk getting it repaired or serviced by them!
